Gearing towards strengthening its graduate programs to serve its vision of becoming a world class academic institution in animal science, IAS curriculum committee, headed by Deputy Director Christine B. Adiova, successfully held the Graduate Program Workshop at the Philippine Judicial Academy Training Center, 12-13 September.

To represent Dean Jose V. Camacho was Dr. Aimee Lynn B. Dupo, Graduate School Secretary, who delivered a lecture on the impacts of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) on higher education.

Invited as resource speakers were: Dr. Rita B. Ruscoe, Dean of the College of Teacher Education at the Philippine Normal University; and Dr. Greg T. Pawilen, Associate Professor at the College of Human Ecology – UPLB, to discuss the principles of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) and its application to graduate degree program.

The workshop aimed to inspire IAS faculty in applying the principles of OBE on the existing graduate courses of the Institute. Pursuant to OVCAA Memorandum No. 2019-04, the workshop was also pointed in setting the program outcomes that are common to all specializations and specific to each specialization of graduate degrees in animal science.

At the end of the two-day occasion, each division was tasked to present the course map that they designed per specialization and a draft of the revised syllabi of graduate courses following the OBE format.

Also present were CAFS Dean Elpidio M. Agbisit, Jr., Director Rommel C. Sulabo, and professor emeriti Cesar C. Sevilla and Carmencita D. Mateo.
