To help fresh graduates and other job hunters in navigating their career post-graduation, the Institute of Animal Science held its first Virtual Job Fair in partnership with the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN) via Zoom meeting last August 2.
The event was launched to link graduates with industry partners in the animal science sector for possible hiring and employment. IAS director, Dr. Rommel C. Sulabo, opened the program with his welcome message. Meanwhile, PHILSAN president, Dan Dennis Dizon, delivered an inspirational message by highlighting the key points in finding a suitable career for animal science practitioners.
The event was attended by more than 80 applicants and eight well-known companies in the industry, including ATLAS Nutrition, Broadchem Philippines Biopharma Corporation, EDL Group of Companies, KPP Powers Commodities Inc., Nuevo Milenio Inc., Philchema Group, UNAHCO, and JA Farms Asia Pacific, Inc. Each company prepared a short presentation to introduce the organization’s background. There were also cash and gift packs from participating companies for raffle and games during the program.
After the presentation, breakout session was conducted to facilitate the interview. Applicants were free to join and choose different breakout rooms assigned to each company.
IAS is pleased to be an instrument in bridging job seekers with companies, and to contribute to national development consistent with the University’s mission.
