To develop the skills of students through proper application of technical knowledge in agriculture and biotechnology, the Institute of Animal Science – College of Agriculture and Food Science (IAS-CAFS) led the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and RDF Feed, Livestock and Foods, Inc. (RDFFLFI) held at the Executive Conference Room, Office of the Chancellor in UPLB last December 14.
The agreement serves as collaboration between UPLB and RDFFLFI where the latter will serve as Host Training Establishment (HTE) for student internship program.
In his message, UPLB Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. (CJCJ) he said that the implementation of the internship program to all BS academic programs is a response to the call of various industries in employing workplace-ready graduates.
CJCJ added that the MOA signing is important to UPLB and expressed his delight for the commitment of the RDFFLFI.
The MOA was signed by CJCJ, RDFFLFI CEO and UPLB-CVM alumnus, Dr. Robert H. Lo. This was witnessed by CAFS Dean Elpidio M. Agbisit, Jr. and RDFFLFI Human Resource Administrative Manager Jayson L. Villa.
Also present were UPLB Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Fernando O. Paras, Jr.; CAFS Associate Dean for Instruction Adeliza A. Dorado; IAS Director Rommel C. Sulabo; and Asst. Prof. Darcy R. Pamulaklakin.
Serving as their counterpart for RDFFLFI were: Mr. Lemuel T. Gabriel, Sales Manager; Ms. Roselyn P. Cuay, Human Resources Head; Mr. Kim Albert E. De Mesa and Ms. Bea Cinara M. Joson, In-House Nutritionists.
RDFFLFI is a medium-scale agri-food system enterprise that has a unique integrated food supply chain that includes manufacturing, commercial livestock (poultry and swine) production, fresh, processed, and cooked meats, distribution, retailing, restaurants, and coffee shop business.
