Description: The physical environment; the mechanics of thermoregulation and animal adaptation; thermal stress; the problems associated with and the improvement of livestock production in tropical climate.

Course Outcomes:

  • Become aware with the current state, issues and trends in livestock production in relation to the environment
  • Understand the concept of thermoregulation and the consequences of thermal stress on livestock performance
  • Understand the principle of epigenesis and endocrine disruption in connection with animal production
  • Apply new knowledge/information in formulating research in Animal Science
