Description: The anatomy and physiology of reproduction and techniques of improving reproductive efficiency in farm animals

Course Outcomes:

  • To know the structure and function of the reproductive organs in both the male and female of the different domestic animal species
  • To understand the basic concepts and principles of reproductive behaviour, endocrinology, gametogenesis, fertilization, embryonic development, gestation, parturition and lactation
  • To understand the basic concepts and principles of manipulating estrus, ovulation and other techniques for improving reproductive efficiency
  • To demonstrate basic skills in applying the learned concepts of manipulating estrus, ovulation and other techniques for improving reproductive efficiency
  • To demonstrate belief in the value of reproductive techniques and principles in the improvement of farm animal production
