The Institute of Animal Science warmly congratulates the newly awarded UP Scientists of the UP Scientific Productivity System (SPS), CY 2021-2023.

Dr. Orville L. Bondoc, Professor 12 from the Animal Breeding Division at IAS, was awarded the title UP Scientist I. Dr. Bondoc is an expert in Animal Breeding and Genetics and was previously conferred as UP Scientist I of the UP SPS for CY 2009-2011; and 2014-2016.

Likewise, Dr. Percival P. Sangel, Professor 1 from the Animal Physiology Division at IAS, was awarded the title UP Scientist I. Dr. Sangel specialized in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry and has authored numerous publications in both ISI and non-ISI journals.

The SPS aims to: (1) support the development of science and technology and (2) encourage and reward scientific productivity. Deserving scientists shall be conferred the title of “UP Scientist” with the UP Scientific Productivity Award.
